This chair variation of the “Half Lord of the Fishes” yoga pose is a chair twist that will help release tension from your spine.
You can sit sideways on a chair and reach for the chair back for resistance. If you’re in a tight space (like on an airplane), you can also sit front-facing in the seat and reach for the arm rest for resistance (or chair back, if you’re able to do so comfortably).
Hold the position for 10-15 seconds and then return to a front facing position.
Repeat the movement on the opposite side.
