It can be overwhelming to decide how to best tackle weight loss. Not all resources that offer weight-loss methods are effective, or healthy. Let’s start with the basics:
It takes 3500 calories to make or lose one pound of fat. So, if you cut 500 calories from your current diet, you would lose one pound a week; a safe and healthy approach to steadily lose the weight and keep it off. This pace allows your body to adapt and prevent the constant flip-flops of other weight loss regimens.
Most importantly, be patient and proud of yourself with every achievement. This is the first step in a lifestyle change. Building a healthy lifestyle will help you maintain weight loss, and no weight-loss journey is without its obstacles. It won’t happen overnight, but with persistence, you will see a difference in the weeks and months to come. Don’t expect immediate changes. Don’t agonize and worry each day- that can actually deposit “stress fat,” especially in the belly region. Let it go. In six months, you could see a twenty-four pound lighter you.
Each week, we will post more specific suggestions and ideas on how exercise, diet, and stress. . .can impact your weight- so check back!
